I'm having all kinds of problems with the netbook. It won't start up most of the time ... I have to give it a bang on the corner (where it fell at the airport) and then it will start. I am concerned that it won't make the whole trip. I suspect it may be the hard drive.
I am also experiencing problems with my right eye. I have developed some spots and lines in it. I was taking pictures of sunsets, and the next day I noticed these spots and lines. I thought maybe I burned my retina.
The ride is very rough as we travel on bad roads most of the time. So one member suggested that it might be a detached retina. That got me worried so I looked for an optomologist in Swakopmund but he was out in small communities doing the circuit. So I went to an optical shop and they had some kind of specialist there. He asked me a few questions about what I was seeing and he assured me that the retina was not detached. So I feel a whole lot better about the situation. At least I won't be going blind in that eye. I keep seeing these funny things and am beginning to think it might be cataracts. We'll be in a bigger place in a few days and will maybe get it checked there.
